Professional microblading in Aldridge
Over 15 years experience!

Microblading is a way of implanting pigment under the epidermis using a specially designed tiny blade which leaves thin realistic hair strokes for the most natural finish. Together, we design a brow which is totally bespoke to you. Your colour will be mixed from the highest quality pigments to match your skin tone and natural or desired hair colour. Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps or fill in over plucked brows. Those who just want to add a very slight arch are also great candidates and the results are natural.
The best part about the technique is that there is no down time. Your new set of brows will be ready for a selfie immediately after the process. However, a follow up appointment 6-8 weeks is recommended after your initial treatment.
Microblading originated in Asia and is also known as eyebrow embroidery. A fantastic treatment for anyone looking to improve or enhance the appearance of their eyebrows.

Measuring/shaping of brows

The entire procedure is an extremely meticulous process that takes around two hours to complete. The first hour is measuring the brows. The shape of the brow is determined by taking six key measurements on the brow bone using a specialised golden mean ratio calliper – this is the longest part and the most import step. During this time, the best customised shape for every client is chosen.

Leading up to your appointment, you should avoid plucking or waxing your brows because your technician will be making your new shape based on current measurements. You should avoid using exfoliators and alpha hydroxy acids 72 hours prior to treatment and medications such as blood thinners.

How does it differ from semi-permanent make up?

Microblading differs from conventional semi-permanent make up by the very fact that it is a manual procedure. When using a handheld micro blade, the colour is deposited closer to the surface than when a machine is used leaving very fine and crisp hair strokes with no spilling under the skin.

Who can have microblading?

Whether you are 18 or 88, microblading will create a natural look that will not only simplify your makeup routine, but can help improve your confidence, self-esteem and overall look.
There are some contraindications to treatment and some types of skin take better than others, but this will be discussed thoroughly prior to treatment. Give us a call to book your consultation.

How long does it last?

Results can last from 8 months – 2 years depending on skin type and lifestyle, but maintenance is recommended annually.

Does it hurt?

Yes, there is some discomfort, but topical anaesthetic is applied during the procedure to help alleviate the pain.

Some Considerations:

  • You must be over 18.
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • It is likely you will need two treatments – initial application and then top up around 8 weeks.

For best possible results and to avoid complications, always follow the aftercare advice given by your technician. Avoid touching the area and using skin care products and make up on the area for a minimum of ten days. Picking, peeling and scratching of the area should be avoided at all costs except when rinsing and applying the post-care cream (which is client specific). Avoid tanning, direct sunning, swimming, increased sweating and exercising for up to 10 days following the procedure. Once healed, apply a layer of SPF 30-50 sunscreen on your brows before heading into the sun.

A week after treatment, the strokes often disappear. This is completely normal; it can take up to 4 weeks for the colour to emerge.

Don’t be unrealistic about the result – you may expect thick bold brows but microblading is very subtle and natural. It is a twostep process and you shouldn’t expect to see full results after only one treatment. For more defined brows, it may take a few appointments before you reach your ideal look. The strokes are very sharp initially but will soften over time. You should take into consideration that different skin types also factor into results. Excessively oily skin, larger pores, thick skin and eyebrow keratosis can affect the absorption of the pigment.

Semi-permanent make up

If you want a flawless finish without the fuss, you might want to consider semi-permanent make up. Perfect for those who want to shave time off their beauty routine or suffer with allergies to conventional make up. This cosmetic treatment works by inserting micro pigments into the skin.

The most common services requested include powdered eyebrows (more of a shading effect rather than hair stroke effect), lip contour, permanent eyeliner, beauty spots and freckles. Hassle-free, smudge-proof and totally glam, what’s not to love?

What to expect?

On the day of your treatment, before we start, you have a thorough consultation, and at this point we go through desired colours and contours (we suggest bringing your favourite lip liner or brow pencil as a guide). Once that’s done, a cosmetic pen is applied to create a template for the procedure. No worries if you’re not totally happy first-time round, as we will continue to make adjustments until you’re fully satisfied. The procedure itself isn’t painful but anaesthetic creams are used beforehand and throughout treatment to keep you nice and comfortable.

The treated area will also appear darker and more exact immediately after the treatment but will lighten and soften over a few days.

Things to know…

How long will it take? About one to two hours, usually, depending on what is required.

How long does it last? Over time the colour will fade and break down, therefore it’s suggested to return to the clinic every 12-18 months for a top up procedure, to keep the look complete and fresh.

Based on skin type and lifestyle, permanent and semi-permanent make up can last for several years to a decade!

Semi-permanent make up is a process whereby hypoallergenic pigments are inserted into the dermal layer (lower layer) of the skin, using a needle. This makes it stay put all day, every day without smudging or wearing off. So, whether you’re taking a dip in the pool or splashing about at the beach, there’s no need to worry about it exposing your au naturale look.

Am I a candidate for semi-permanent make up?

Anyone who wears make up is a potential candidate for semi-permanent make up. If you lack colour and shape to your lips and want to enhance them without having dermal fillers; if you regularly pencil in your eyebrows or would like to give them a better shape or fill in gaps where they have been over plucked; if you want to enhance your eyes and want the effects of eyeliner without the running and under eye smudging; if you want to open up your eyes and raise your eyebrows without the need for a brow lift; if you are allergic to traditional cosmetics or if you simply want to save time by not having to apply a full face of make up every day, then semi-permanent make up could be an option for you. The ideal candidate for this treatment will also have realistic expectations about what it can achieve.

People who should not have treatment are those with an active skin disease or infection, women who are pregnant or breast feeding, insulin dependent diabetics, people with heart conditions and those who are prone to keloid scarring.

IF YOU ARE PRONE TO COLD SORES AND HAVING A LIP PROCEDURE, IT IS ADVISED TO TAKE A COURSE OF ANTIVIRAL TABLETS A WEEK BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE.
