Anti Wrinkle Injections and Dermal Filler
We hold a Clinic every Wednesday for anti wrinkle injections (Botox) and dermal filler (Juvederm). Carried out by our resident highly qualified Nurse Prescriber with over 10 years experience in the NHS.
Anti Wrinkle Injection (Botox)
Botox is an injectable treatment that has been used in the UK since 1998 to dramatically reduce wrinkles, reduce excess sweating (sometimes caused through Hyperhidrosis) and as a migraine treatment.
Botox® Wrinkle relaxing treatment works only on the specific muscles injected leaving surrounding muscles to function as usual, so that your face is not expressionless. It can be used to soften lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyes, lips, chin and neck.
Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum, which can be found in salt, and has been used as a medical treatment since the 1960s! Botox® is the number one wrinkle reducing injection treatment around the world.
Dermal Filler (Juvederm)
Dermal Fillers are a non-surgical way to give your skin a more youthful appearance by recontouring the face and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Unlike surgical methods, the results are subtle, and people will comment on how well you look, rather than “what have you had done”!
We all like to think that we’ll age gracefully, but the appearance of lines and wrinkles, loss of facial volume and tear troughs under the eyes can affect some people’s confidence – encouraging them to look for advice and proven ways to reverse some of these ageing effects. Many of these visible signs of ageing skin can be significantly improved and dermal fillers can play a big part in helping to deal with specific lines and wrinkles, and establish more youthful facial contours.
As well as facial lines and wrinkles, Dermal Fillers can return thinning lips to their previous full, curved appearance, and also enhance the shape of facial contours such as the chin and cheeks. Using specific techniques, the corners of the mouth, glabella lines (lines between the eyebrows) and nose-to-mouth lines can be improved.
Unlike surgical treatments, the effects of Dermal Fillers are not permanent, though many are very long lasting. That means you can achieve natural-looking results without the risks associated with a facelift. Repeat treatments can be made periodically to maintain the look you desire. If you would like to reduce wrinkles and achieve smoother skin in the upper face, particularly in the areas associated with expression (i.e. crows feet and forehand), then we recommend a combination of dermal filler and Botox® treatments.
